ACCLAIMED was represented at the 8th Ideenfutter Expo 2026, organised by Foodhub NRW eV. The Expo provides a platform for stakeholders across the food value chain to contribute ideas that foster innovation in food and agriculture. This year's participants included researchers, food start-ups, medium-sized businesses and retailers.

Through its Transnational Living Labs, ACCLAIMED develops tailor-made solutions for cowpea and wheat farming in Mediterranean regions with marginal alkaline soils. At the Expo, the project initiated potential collaborations with stakeholders along the food value chain.

ACCLAIMED participated at this year's Night of Science ("Nacht der Wissenschaft") Düsseldorf, whereby the project was presented to the public in an interactive “hands-on” format, allowing the public to experience legume research close up.

The Night of Science is a free science public outreach event organized by Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU), together with several partner institutions, including University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, University Hospital Düsseldorf, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the German Diabetes Center, and the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials, among others. The event brings science out of the university and makes it accessible, understandable, and engaging for the general public.

All members of the ACCLAIMED consortium met online for a pre-kickoff meeting. Project leaders made an introduction and a rough outline of their workpackages and deliverables. Initial steps steps of the Project were agreed on.

The EU-PRIMA-funded project ACCLAIMED officially started in all partner institutes; Heinrich Heine University (HHU), Düsseldorf Germany; University of Tuscia (UNITUS). Viterbo, Italy; Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute (AGERI), Agricultural Research Center (ARC), Giza, Egypt; Spanish National Researcch Council (CSIC), Zaragoza, Spain; and Selçuk Üniversitesi (SU), Konya, Türkiye.
